A Harvest of Generosity

One of our core values at Rivers of Life is living generously.  It is our prayer that God will continuously create a harvest of generosity within us as a congregation.

“…a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop….and God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”  2 Corinthians 9:6;8;10

If you are a member at Rivers of Life, we believe in returning the tithe (a tenth of our monthly income) and giving free-will offerings.

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.” Mal. 3:10

Your contributions, tithes and offerings to Rivers of Life AME Church supports:

  • General Operations: Funding supports the ongoing mission of the church by providing for all areas ministry operations.
  • Benevolence: Your contributions help families experiencing hardship to navigate those financial emergencies by providing assistance with food, shelter and other life necessities.
  • Community Based Organizations and Causes: Your contributions help support community based organizations serving children, youth and families as well as special causes within the Greenbelt and Greater Washington Metropolitan area
