Opportunities To Serve at ROL
Morning Set-Up Team
Serve with a team of volunteers for a bi-weekly rotation to set-up and break-down our worship materials including chairs, tables, signs, communion, stage and the audio-visual equipment. The team’s work ends when our materials are repacked and the worship area is picked up and put back the way our host expects to find it on Monday morning. We depend on you to have our worship ready for an inspiring and God-honoring service 15 minutes before our start time.
Salt and Light Kids
Serve with other team members to plan and carry out ministry to children and youth including our weekly Children’s Church and bi-weekly youth group programs. We depend on you to help us pay attention to the hopes, concerns and needs of our children and youth as well as helping us to connect children’s and youth ministry to the overall goals of our congregation.
Serve with a team of volunteers that are responsible for welcoming our guests, attenders and members as they arrive for our Sunday Morning Worship Service. We depend on you to greet everyone with a smile and a friendly welcome, providing them with our Sunday Morning Worship bulletin, showing them to their seat (if they so desire) as well as showing them to other key places within the building (restrooms, children’s church, small groups, etc.)
New Ministry! – Missionary Society
Join the new Women’s Missionary Society and serve with other women that are called to strengthen their faith and sent to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ by service and witness in the world.
Praise and Worship Ministry
Serve with a team of volunteers that are responsible for providing musical selections for our Sunday Morning Worship Services and support the Pastor in planning and preparing our weekly Worship experiences. We depend on you to inspire our guests, attenders and member with lively praise and uplifting worship that makes God smile!
Serve with a team member to provide the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound and media reinforcement. This includes, but is not limited to, creating the best music mix possible, creating an audio mix that meets the mood the pastor/worship leader wants to convey, and supporting the audio/media needs of the people involved with the church service. Ultimately, glorify God through providing excellent audio and media services.
Opportunities To Serve Our Community
I Love You, Girl
We exist to encourage and empower middle and high school girls to love themselves and each other by building healthy and positive adult-youth relationships and by providing services, opportunities and supports that speak to the realities facing girls of color living in urban communities.
Community Engagement Events
These are events that we sponsor with the intention to connect with the surrounding community with acts of service that express the love and generosity of God. These are typically larger events that require church-wide support and a great deal of volunteers. Our upcoming events are:
- Spring Break Community Meals
- Summer Kick-Off Block Party
- Vacation Bible School (VBS)
If you are interested in receiving more information about how you can get involved in these events, please complete the Volunteer Application Form below and someone from our ministry team will contact you.
